The U10A Boys came out as champions against the top teams in New York and the surrounding areas by beating the Syosset Gunners 4-2 in the finals of the Manhattan Soccer Club Kickoff Classic tournament.
The boys played a beautiful brand of soccer throughout the tournament with their crisp passing and consistent ball control. The Cosmos outscored their high caliber opponents by a convincing 16-5 margin, as they beat every team they played and finished the tournament undefeated. The MVP of the tournament was goalie Justin Silva, who turned away one attack after another in continuously frustrating the opponents, and even chipped in with a goal of his own. Other standout performances came from Matthew Rubinstein, who netted 5 goals and drew 4 penalty kicks in the tournament. Jeremy Saravia was dangerous out of the midfield, notching 4 goals and adding 2 assists. Elias Andriopoulas also had a nice tournament, scoring 2 goals while adding 3 assists. Nick Calderon (2), Jason Lee and Matthew Osiecki also scored for the Cosmos.
A nice performance all around for the boys.
